Smart cities are smarter & faster and help a country become
a world power. They are carefully planned, improve the lives of people and
engage them in day to day success/ progress. Madurai city is part of
the 100 cities that have been identified under the Smart City Mission. Ministry
of Urban Development and Govt. of India launched this mission in 2015 and will
run in three cycles in a span of three years.
